Lichun of Rabbit Year

First of all, Happy Chinese New Year!
Everyone is welcoming the year of RABBIT.

But, do you know that we are actually still in the year of TIGER?

Oh? It has been Chinese New Year but it's still TIGER year?
That must be joking?

Well, it isn't joking.
We are considered stepping into the RABBIT YEAR when it's Lichun (立春).
Lichun means of the beginning of Spring, the first solar term.
It starts when the Sun reaches the celestial longitude of 315 degree.
Many people think that we have stepped into Rabbit Year after Chinese New Year,
but actually it's wrong.
Rabbit Year actually begins on Lichun.

So, when's the Lichun?
Lichun is going to be on tomorrow (4/2/2011), 4.32 a.m.
(Correction: 4.32a.m. is stated in GMT 0, so it's 12.32 p.m. in Malaysia)

Rabbit Year officially starts tomorrow.

Again,
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR TO ALL!
