SMS Is Now 20 Years Old

How many SMS are you sending daily?

10?

100?

or even 1,000?

Do you know? Today is birthday for SMS!

20 years ago on 3 December 1992, the first SMS was sent in UK by Neil Papworth. Ant the text of the message was 'MERRY CHRISTMAS.'

Today, trillions of messages are being sent worldwide. In year 2011, the number of messages sent exceed trillions.

Perhaps, we shall sing a birthday song to SMS.

Happy Birthday to you....
Happy Birthday to you....
Happy Birthday to SMS....
Happy Birthday to you...................

However, as there are getting more people using smartphone, the trend of communication through using SMS starts to switching towards chatting applications of smartphone.

I start wondering, how long will SMS survive?

After 10 years, will we be still sending SMS?

After 10 years, we will know the answer.
