First Time Making Poh Piah

These two months, I am learning cooking. Perhaps next time an be a cook? Haha. 

Today, I learn to cook Poh Piah.

Here, this is the result.

Still okay I guess. 

The hardest part would be wrapping the Poh Piah. My Poh Piah sizes are all not equal. Some are big and some are small. 

During frying it, I never thought I need to act fast, it would turned into black colour very fast. Luckily my mum was helping me beside me. Or else, maybe I am going to have 'black poh piah' as my lunch. 

There were some leftover for the 'poh piah skin' that I didn't finish using it. I fried it as well.

After Poh Piah, what's next? Any suggestion?

Insomnia Because of Coffee

I was insomnia.

I thought caffeine has only little effect on preventing me from sleeping, but who knows, 2 nights ago it makes me hardly get into sleep. I got on bed at 11 something, but after laying for an hour, I couldn't sleep. I then got off from bed to do my thing and got back to sleep at 2am. Sadly, I woke up at about 5am and couldn't get back to sleep. So I slept for 3 hours only. And I feel really tired when I go work.

From now onward, I dare not drink coffee at night anymore, unless I plan to sleep at late night.

Types of Coffee

I have been seeing various type of coffee in various coffee cafe. 

Espresso...

Cappucino...

Mocha...

Latte...

Long Black...

All the time, I actually don't really know  that are the difference between them. I did ask about my friend. And I know about the famous one, such as Espresso, Latte, Cappucino and Mocha. But Latte and Cappucino, I always miss up.

Today, I saw from my friend blog's Facebook page posting about this picture. And it give me a clear picture of various types of coffee.

 

And now, I know what I shall order when I going for coffee.

Reunion Dinner 2013

Looking on Facebook, a lot of people were posting about reunion dinner. Here I am, posting about my reunion dinner on my blog. As usual, we had steam-boat as our reunion dinner. We have been having steam-boat as our reunion dinner for the past few years.

My family and I started to prepare for the dinner at around 6 o'clock. I in-charge for arranging the food on plate. 

After all the preparation, we started eating at around 8 o'clock. 

My stomach was so full with the dinner. It's quite a nice dinner. How about you? I hope you had a great reunion dinner too.

Ah Huat White Coffee Mug & Ang Pow

When to Sunshine Farlim to have some window shopping. But end up. I bought something.



Haha. Ah Huat White Coffee again. I seems to be liking it so much ya?

Haha. Actually I am buying because of the free gift. When we buy 2 packet, it gives us one mug and one packet of Ang Pow.

Do you heard Ah Huat White Coffee before?

It's a new product introduced by Power Root Berhad, the company that manufactures Alicafe. I have been looking for this coffee for long time. I have been to numbers of supermarket but couldn't find it. Today, I went Sunshine Farlim to buy it (thanks to Calvyn for telling me that it's available at Sunshine Farlim). It cost me RM10.90.

After I stepped out from Sunshine Farlim and waiting for the rain to be less heavy, an uncle approached me and asked me whether Ah Huat White Coffee is nice.

Then, then I was buying my lunch, the aunty selling economy asked me the same question too.

I wonder, is Ah Huat White Coffee so famous. The company has really done a good job in promoting the product.

After I went back, I tried it. I like its taste.

Ah Huat White Coffee has been advertised widely in TV and radio. If you never see the advertisement before, here is it.

Mashed Potato

This morning, I prepare a breakfast for myself.

After I woke up, I took some potatoes.

First of all, I peeled off the potatoes and washed it.

Then, I boiled it into water.

After boiling it for 20 minutes, I took it out and mashed it.

Yea, I guess you know what breakfast I am preparing already. It's mashed potato! Yeah!

I guess I put a little bit too much salt. It's a little bit too salty.

Today, I just make it without any additional ingredient. Next time, I am going to add in mayonnaise, carrot and cucumber.

Hokkien Mee @ Chai Leng Park

I went Perai for outside audit for these few days.
Today, my colleague and I had our dinner at Chai Leng Park to try its Hokkien mee. My colleague told us that the Hokkien mee is nice, so we decided to try it.

I ordered dried Hokkien mee. Its taste is better than the normal one.. 

Beside ordering mee, we ordered some other things as well.

COOB Coffee Club At Komtar Walk

There are so many posts that I wish to post up by keep delaying. This is one of it, COOB Coffee Club.



I went COOB Coffee Club weeks ago. It was the time one of my colleague was on leave for ACCA exam. My other colleague recommended this place to me. Well, his recommendation is not disappointing. It is a nice place to have my lunch.





This is what my colleague order. Seriously, its smell is VERY NICE! When the food was served to him, the first thought of mine was 'aikx, I should have order this.'

I guess it tastes nice too, instead of just smells nice. My colleague give a good rating on this food too.



This is mine. I ordered.... er.... I forgot. (bad memory ya)

It should be grilled chicken Plasta. Ya, should be something like that. It didn't smell as nice as what my colleague order, but it taste nice as well. I like it's grilled chicken very much. A nice ones.

It cost us about RM12 to RM16 per person for this mean (if I am not mistaken). And I believe it worth it.

Oh ya, almost forget telling about where is it.

Midnight Duck Rice At Ayer Itam

It have been a long time.....

A very long time......

I have been saying for a long time that I want to eat the famous duck rice in Ayer Itam! I did actually go there for few times. Unfortunately, it was closed every time I went.

On Chap Goh Meh, I went Strait Quay with Henry, Applefish and her boy friend to see the ceremony of 'throwing orange'. After dismiss, Henry and I went there to have a try on the duck rice.



Yeah! Finally I made it!

Finally I had the chance to try the famous duck rice!



Besides duck meat, it also consists of pork, intestines, egg and 'Tau Gua'. It cost us RM4 for the small ones and RM5 for the big ones.

It satisfied me. I like the taste. But sadly, I couldn't have chance to eat it always.

You know why? Because it will be sold only at midnight! I rarely go out at night, so I don't really have chance to eat it always. The stall opens at 11pm if I am not wrong. So, if you want to try it, you have to go out at night.

Opps, I forgot to mention the venue.

Well, its location is very easy to be recognized. It locates opposite the Ayer Itam's Laksa and Ayer Itam market.

Does the duck rice makes your saliva to flow out? Want to try it now?

Western Food At Mr. Pot Cafe, Gurney Drive

I bought Mr. Pot's coupons from Living Social (formerly known as Everyday) about 2 months ago. I bought 5 coupons. It cost me RM14.60 for one coupon. Each coupon will be served with two sets of western food (without drinks). The normal price is at around RM13.50 to RM13.90. So, buying from Living Social (formerly known as Everyday) saved me around 50%.

Today, I went there with my friends. So I used up 2 coupons for that.

As the coupons didn't come with drinks. We have to order drinks. I have forgotten the price of the drinks (so forgetful ya). But the drink we ordered, I think is around RM3 to RM5 (but I am not too sure).



It has been long time I didn't eat western food. So, I also don't know whether it's delicious or not. But for me, it's not bad. Among the three types of western food, the Cheesy Chicken Cutlet looks like more delicious.

I Love Vege @ Queensbay Mall, Penang

I bought I Love Vege's coupons from Everyday.com.my. It's expiring on today. Luckily I managed to used it before it expires.

I went there with my colleague after having exercise at Youth Park yesterday. it locates at Queensbay Mall's third floor.



From the name, I believe you can see from the name, they are selling vegetarian food. Besides healthy food, it was good in a healthier way.



This is the food we ate.

How? Quite healthy, right?

The best in the meal is the papaya. It's so sweet and tasty! I personally don't really like papaya. But this papaya, is so tasty!

Well, this meal cost me RM6.80 (purchasing from Everyday). Sounds expensive? But it's healthier. Health worth more than that. Anyway, if not mistaken, the original price should be RM13.90.

Happy 'Tang Yuan' Festival

It's 'Tang Yuan' Festival!

Due to work, I didn't help to make 'Tang Yuan' this year. However, after reading some blogs, it flashed back my memory in my past where my brothers and I were helping my mother and grandmother to make the 'Tang Yuan'. It was quite fund. Perhaps, next year, if I have time, I will make the 'Tang Yuan'.





The 'Tang Yuan' made by my family. 3 colours: red, green and white.

They made it in yesterday's noon and my mum cooked it at night. And I ate some last night.
