My Convocation

I am officially a UUM graduate now!

3rd October was a memorable day for me, the day I officially received my degree.

My family and I departed from home at around 4.40am. During the journey, it rained heavily, and we reached a bit late. I was worrying on getting late at there. Luckily, I was late for a little bit only, and everything wasn't realy start yet.

The moment of photographing with my friends in UUM was thing that exciting me the most! When I was in the hall, I couldn't stop thinking the photographing session. I felt really very excited on it.

This is the first person I took photo with after I got out from the hall.

Know who is he? He was my roommate since second semester. He is a good roommate. I feel glad to have him as my roommate for 6 semesters. Let's check out other photos.

Robe For My Convocation Ceremony

Finally, I am going to be a UUM graduate officially!

Tomorrow is going to be a big day for LuPorTi! It's going to be my convocation ceremony. I guess I need to sleep early tonight, 9 o'clock perhaps. I hope to depart as early as possible to avoid late reaching.



My beloved Lipei helped me to take my robe for my convocation ceremony last Monday. I took it from her last Thursday.

And this, the 'square hat' that a lot of people are waiting to wear.



Let's try it on. Seriously, it took me quite a period of time to learn how to wear it. Thanks to Jace 'jie' teaching me.

Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow....

I am waiting tomorrow to graduate officially. I am going to capture a lot photos with my friends. And, I feel so happy when knowing that some of my juniors are going to see me and capture some photos as well. You all have made my university life a better ones.

It states,

Yeah! I am graduating!

4. Click 'Graduation Letter'. You may choose either English or Malay version.



5. And you will see the letter.

UUM Temporary Transcript

Finally, I got to know the announcement from UUM's HEA department.
I guess a lot of my friends are asking this question too, right?

If you couldn't see the announcement clearly, this is the important sentence:

"Undergraduate students who have fulfilled the graduation requirements and have been approved by the Senate to graduate during UUM's 24th Convocation Ceremony to be held from the 1st - 6th October 2011 may obtain their LETTER OF COMPLETION OF STUDIES AND TEMPORARY ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT through the graduation menu in Students Portal."

UUM Practicum Result Releasing

Yesterday, I received a message from my friend telling me that we can now check our practicum result.
Soon after I got home, I turned on my laptop to check about it.
But, it took me half an hour time.

When I logged in to UUM portal and clicked for the result checking,
it required me update my information.

After I click to update it, a trouble popped up.

I was using Google Chrome to surf it.
Then I changed to Firefox.

It still the same.
I really have to use Internet Explorer to surf it.
It has been a long time I didn't use it.
Luckily my Internet Explorer version is 6.0.

Then, I successfully got into the result page.
Another problem, it was empty.

After a while, I knew that I can check out from profile there.



Yea. I found it.
But, another problem.

My practicum result doesn't really appear.
But my GPA and CGPA were updated.
Therefore, I need to count it back, and deduct the total marks for my other papers that I have taken previously in order to know my practicum result.

Finally I got it.
But I am not sure is that really the way to know my practicum result.

Anyway, another question comes up on my mind.
When will be my convocation.

My friends say that it is going to be on October this year.

Is it true? I hope so.

UUM Next Convocation

Finally the 24th convocation date has announced. It will be held on October 1 to 5, 2011.

But the conferment of degree sessions haven't been determine.

This is what I see from the UUM convocation website:

The UUM’s 24^th Convocation Ceremony is scheduled on 1^st-5^th of October 2011 (Saturday-Wednesday). The conferment of degree sessions yet to be determined, please refer to the convocation website for any updates.

Accident Around UUM

A very sad thing happened around UUM.
A Proton Waja and a Kancil crashed together near EDC, UUM.
Two were found dead in the accident while another one injured.
All of them are UUM students who stay in Muamalat Student Residential Hall.
They are all 23 and studying hospitality management.

It's so pity that two of them couldn't survive.
They are 23 years old only but already left the world.
I believe their parents are crying now.

R.I.P: Teh Shiew Cien and Lim Hsiao Pei.

Lim Seow Ching, the fortunate ones, survive from that accident.
Although she survives, she is going to have a tough moment I think.
Her friend died beside her.
In fact, she is having her practicum training in EDC, and her friend was fetching her there. See! Practicum is the cause!
In the following days, perhaps she will be thinking that the accident will not happen if her friend didn't fetch her there.
She is going to suffer mentally.
I hope she will get well soon, physically and mentally.

Whatever happened, has already happened.
We can't change anything. That's life.

I know none of the victims, but I feel sympathy of them.
When I was searching who they are, my mood turned down.
If I describe my mood as weather, then it will be cloudy day.
They are 23 years old only, you know.
Why should their life be taken away?
Why their life ends in this way?
They are very unfortunate.
I hope this kind of tragedy will not happen again in UUM.

Result For Semester 7

The result for semester 7 has finally been released!

I was worrying that I could fail some papers.
Out of 6 papers that I took in semester 7,
I have confidence on one paper only.
JUST ONE PAPER, I am not joking.
That's why I was worrying.
I scare that I need to extend another semester.

When I clicked to see my result,
I felt scare for a while.

When the result appeared in front of me,
the first thing I was looking for is the word 'F'.
Luckily I found no F in my result.

Here is my result:

Strategic Management : A
Company Secretarial Practice : A-
International Business: B+
Analysis and Use of Financial Statements: B
Issues in Management Accounting: B
Basic Entrepreneurship: B

For my friends, perhaps they will feel sad of such result,
But I feel good on it.
It's far better than I expected.
I worried I would get failed.
I never expect my worst paper got only B.
I feel satisfied of it already.

Now, the remaining thing to be done is to finish my practicum.
It's 23 weeks to go.
Then I officially finish my 4 years of getting a degree in accounting.

My UUM Life Ended

Finally,
after three and half years staying in UUM,
it ended yesterday.

My dad went UUM to fetch me.

After I packed my things and put in my dad's car.

Wow!
It's almost full!
Unfortunately I didn't have any camera.
Or else, I would take photo to show you all how full is it.
I never thought I had so many things to be taken back!

When we were at Sungai Petani there,
my dad changed mind.
We didn't back Penang right away.
We went to my grandma's house to stay for one day.

Then,
we back to Penang today.

My UUM life finally ended.

How to describe my feeling?
I have no idea.

I met a lot of friends who are so great.
Smart people, helpful people, friendly people......
All of them have made my UUM life more colourful.

Well, I hope we can remain as friends forever!

All the best to you in your coming life!

Going To Leave UUM

In less than 10 hours time,
I am going to say 'bye bye' to my UUM life.

I have my last examination paper at 2.30 p.m. later,
then, my dad will fetch me back.

This actually should be the moment that I am waiting for.

But, don't know why,
I don't feel as happy as I should be.

Why is this happened?

I missed some people over here?

A lot of things I haven't completed?

Fail to record down my memories over here and make me feel not happy to leave?

Fear of leaving something here and couldn't get back?

Or other reasons?

Why is this happening to me?

I Start Study = I Can Get A Better Result?

I had an exam today.
The venue is near to my hostel.
I walked there at around 8.30a.m.

I met my friend after I got there.
Then, I started asking my friends regarding the examination.

One friend asked me, 'do you memorize it?'

I said, 'a bit.'

My friends surprised.
They said that it's the first time I memorize academic stuffs.

And one friend said,
'his result is already good without memorizing. Now, he started memorizing, sure be much better.'

Well, is it so?

I want to tell them.
I started to memorize actually isn't a good sign.
In fact, it's a bad ones.

It represents I fall into big trouble.
I might failed to pass it.

Yea, seriously.
The chance for me to pass it is just about 50%.

After the exam,
the chance for me to pass got even lower.
I failed to do it well.

Will I pass it?
I hope I have the luck to pass it.

UUM Student Representative Council has posted something regarding the academic calendar for next semester.

Next Semester Academic Calendar Has Changed?

The delayed examination should definitely affect the academic calendar.

Initially,
I heard that next semester is going to start a week later than what has been planned previously.

But now, I saw another version.

Duration of study: 15/1/2011 - 2/2/2011 (3 weeks)
Mid semester break: 3/2/2011 - 11/2/2011 (1 week)
Duration of study: 12/2/2011 - 28/4/2011 (11 weeks)
Revision holiday: 29/4/2011 - 6/5/2011 (1 week)
Examination: 7/5/2011 - 26/5/2011 (3 weeks)
Semester break: 27/5/2011 - 9/9/2011 (15 weeks)

15 weeks holiday after the examination?
The break is going to be until September?

Will it possible?

Is it going to be true?
Or it's just a rumour?

We will know it when the official announcement is made.
Let's wait for it.

Flood is so serious in north region of Malaysia.
My university has delayed the examination schedules.
Now, I guess many UUM students are thinking whether when should they go back to the university.
I am also thinking the question.

Practicum Issue On Delayed Examination

UUM's Student Representative Council has made some clarification on the issue for practicum.

Isu praktikum

Bagi yang peperiksaan habis sebelum 13/12/2010, tarikh daftar praktikum adalah seperti biasa.

Bagi yang peperiksaan habis selepas 13/12/2010 ,tarikh daftar praktikum adalah pada 20/12/2010.

Translation:
For those whose examination ends before 13 December, the practicum will start as usual.
For those whose examination ends after 13 December, the practicum will start on 20 December 2010.

I have asked for detail on this matter.

On Monday,
our student representatives will go to UIL to get the the latest information.
We all don't need to do anything at this moment,
either our examination ends on, before or after 13 December.

*You may check updates from Student Representative Council on next Monday or Tuesday.

Now, the problem is,
if a student finished its exam at 5p.m. on 13 December 2010,
and its practicum venue is Sarawak,
how is he able to be there on time on 13 December?

Naib Canselor UUM Prof Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak berkata, tarikh baru untuk peperiksaan itu adalah pada 21 November hingga 13 Disember ini."Kita membuat keputusan itu selepas mengambil kira nasihat daripada Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN) dan Pusat Gerakan Banjir Negara,” kata beliau dalam kenyataan di sini hari ini.Beliau berkata, antara sebab penangguhan peperiksaan itu ialah jalan utama yang menghubungkan UUM dengan Alor Setar yang melibatkan Lebuh Raya Utara-Selatan ditutup dan pada masa yang sama Lapangan Terbang Sultan Abdul Halim juga ditutup kerana banjir.

UUM Students Want To Know!

Today,
UUM examination was suddenly delayed without a proper announcement.
Or, could I say, no official announcement?

It caused the panic!

This is the announcement made in UUM website.


How about students who study inside campus and are going to have examination?
Why there is no any official announcement?

UUM's Student Representative Council claimed that they are having meeting with UUM management about this matter.
The details will be announced tonight.

Tonight?

When is so-called 'TONIGHT'?

This clarification couldn't stop the panic.

There are many question marks on UUM students' mind.

1. Is the new timetable confirmed? Will it change again?
2. Does internship schedule delayed?
3. Will UUM compensate for students from Sabah and Sarawak who spent lot money in ticket?
4. Will UUM water and power supply be cut off?

I wish all these questions can be answered as soon as possible!

UUM Examination Is Delayed

I was planning to back my UUM tomorrow.

But,
this afternoon,
suddenly I realised that our exams are delays.

Exams which are scheduled on 8/11 - 15/11 will be postponed to 4/12 - 13/12.

After the news were spread,
many people started complaining and voicing out.
Facebook was full with the post regarding this matter.

The reasons of postponing said by our Student Representative Council are:
1. Rain is expected to be heavy on 5 to 7 November, and perhaps there will be flood.
2. Students and staff who are outside of UUM fail to reach UUM.
3. Insufficient fuel for Bus.
4. Insufficient food.
5. Insufficient fuel.

Many people are complaining.
Our Student Representative Council is still in meeting with UUM management.
The result of the meeting is expected to be out tonight.

The delay of examination has lead to few problems.
1. For those students who have bought the tickets, they need to cancel the ticket? How is the fare and fee charged? How about foreign students? This is a big question.
2. For students who are going for internship, how are they going to start the internship (started on 13 December) if the exam is delayed to 13 December?

I hope our student representative will bring us a good solution tonight!

Final Class With Mr. Abdul Halim

After 3 and half years studying in UUM,
finally, today is my final day to attend class in UUM.

8 o'clock today,
is my 'Issues In Management Accounting' class.
It was my second last class in UUM.

I still remember,
I previously decided not to choose management and costing accounting as my elective paper.

But the end,
out of 3 elective papers,
I chose 'Costing In Special Industry' and 'Issues In Management Accounting'.

Why?

Because of Mr. Abdul Halim.



Yea, this is Mr. Abdul Halim.
He is the best lecturer in UUM I ever seen in my 3 and half years time.

Thanks to Mr. Abdul Halim.
He wasn't only teach us about Management Accounting,
but also about life and more other things.

What makes me feel a little bit regret is that,
I missed some of his classes.

He is a very great lecturer,
but I am not a great student.

Perhaps,
he felt disappointed of me?
I felt sorry.

Today,
my friends and I gave him a card,
for thanking him.





He looked and read the card in class.
I hope he like it.
